History:  Born of the Sioux tribe in the Americas, Anait was born a princess, daughter of the chief Tait, the leader of their large tribe.   She was loved and treasured by her family and her people.  All but one.  The Shaman in their tribe had been secretly longing for her since her sixteenth birthday.  The man who married her would be the next chief.  the Shaman presented himself to Anait and her father.  Chief Tait pondered it, but Anait refused.  She knew he had done some things to endanger the tribe, but was unable to prove it.  Angered, the Shaman cursed Anait for her refusal.  She fell into a dream-like state and he buried her alive in a tomb-like cave far from home.  Her father and the tribe were devestated to learn from the Shaman that she had been attacked and killed by a mountain lion, as seen in a vision.  Her father, overcome by grief, passed his chieftainship onto the Shaman, then killed himself.  Anait's struggle before she was cursed, caused the Shaman's spell to weaken.  Instead of dying, she sleeps, and her spirit travels to get help.  She only knows that she must stop the Shaman from destroying her tribe.  The problem is, she doesn't know how, and she strongly distrusts the white man.
