Mid Spring: Age: 7-
They've begun to teach me about medicine now.  They think I'll need it someday.  I'd much rather be out riding Alphekka.  She is such a pretty horse.  Mother says that riding with a leg on either side isn't lady-like, but it's much more comfortable.  Lodestar and Kochab get to ride that way.  I don't know why I can't.  Lodestar is 10 and Kochab is 14.  They are my brothers.  They can be obnoxious sometimes, but I am glad they're around.  They saved me from that bully, Nihal.  Nihal was going to take the money Mother gave me to buy the chicken she wanted for dinner.  They rode up just in time to rub his nose in the dirt.  Mother is the kindest lady you could ever meet.  Father makes lots of money, but Mother won't let him hire a cook.  She makes all our meals and each one is delicious.  Father is a tradesman for the King and the King pays him lots of money.  Father lets me ride Alphekka like Kochab and Lodesar unless Mother is with us.  He spoils me.  He's always bringing me sweet candy from his trades and pretty jewelry from the King.

Late-Spring: Age: 18-
I met the most handsome man today.  Mother sent me to the market for a ham leg and I wasn't watching where I was going.  I ran head-first into him.  I looked up, and I swear, blue eyes like the ocean were smiling at me.  I blushed, of course, for being so clumsy, but also because his eyes stirred in me a feeling I had never felt before.  I dropped the basket with the ham in it and when I bent to pick it up, so did he.  We banged heads.  It hurt!  But, we laughed and he introduced himself as Alcor Wesen, the son of Lord Rhad Wesen.  He walked me home, probably to make sure I didn't fall over, and we talked the whole time.  When we got home, he asked to speak with my father.  After a few minutes alone in the study, my father came out beaming an announced that Alcor had asked for permission to court me.  I smiled and tried to hide my enthusiasm.  It didn't work very well.

Late-Fall: Age: 18-
The King has declared war, Alcor and my brothers have been summoned.  They cannot refuse to go or they will be tried for treason.  Alcor came to me today.  He asked me to marry him after he gets back.  Of course I said yes.  He gave me a silver necklace with a diamond pendant.  I pray he returns safely.

Late-Fall: Age: 19-
The war is over.  Kochab and Lodestar have returned and I know their wives are grateful.  Everyone was so worried.  I asked them for news about Alcor, but they said they had not seen him for over three weeks.  The casualties list was issued today.  Alcor's name was not on it.

Late-Fall: Age: 21-
I've waited for three years for his return.  I cannot wait any longer.  Each day that passes deepens the wound.  He is not coming back for me.  I can't stand it here anymore.  I have decided to journey to the mainland.  I need a vacation from the memories and pain.  Adhara is beautiful, but it is becoming ugly in my eyes.  I love my parents and brothers, but they understand.  I need to leave.

Early-Winter: Age: 21-
I have reached the mainland with some money in my pocket, but no direction in my head.  My clothing was too burdensome, at the dock I gave some of it away.  I thought I saw Alcor today.  But it wasn't him and I started to cry.  I'm sure people thought me strange.  I found a tavern that rents the rooms above it.  Rhydin is an interesting place.  It is very different from Adhara, but I like it.  It's a new experience.

Mid-Summer: Age: 22-
I feel funny, strange.  I'm not sure why exactly.  I was at a tavern having a drink.  That's really the last thing I remember.  I know I must sound like a drunkard, but I don't think I had more than one tankard to drink.  I woke up this morning with a raging headache and a funny feeling in my back.

Late-Summer: Age: 22-
I figured out today why my back often tingles.  I have wings.  And I shrink.  This is not more alarming to anyone as it is to me.  Apparently, after asking some questions of people who were there that night, a stranger sat down to drink with me.  He apparently was a mage of some sort.  But, as a joke, only because he appeared to be laughing as he did it, he turned me into a faery.  I'm not very amused.  I am going to search for him.
